Leading Cloud solutions exclusively for Life Sciences teams that accelerate discovery, optimize costs and ensure scalability and compliance in AWS.
Learn how to optimize costs and maximize return on investment in Cloud computing, specifically tailored to Life Sciences R&D and development. In this session, series hosts and veteran technologists from RCH Solutions—Michael Riener, CEO, and Phil Eschallier, CTO—sit down with Tom Godden, Enterprise Strategist and CxO Advisor, AWS, to discuss cost-control strategies and insights for building and leading an accountable, cost-conscious team and culture.
With over 30 years of experience as a managerial and technical computing professional, Phil currently leads RHC’s Managed Services capabilities and is responsible for all elements of the customer experience, including requirements and resources management and services definitions and delivery. His professional background includes solutions architecting, scientific and high-performance computing design and support, life sciences applications management, and software engineering from management and technical perspectives.
As a member of the AWS Enterprise Strategy team, Tom relies on his experience as both a CIO and CTO to consult with other executives on how they can drive higher value from their own migrations to the cloud. During his career, Tom has led several large-scale digital transformation efforts, including cloud migrations for two different companies. While at Foundation Medicine, a large genomics diagnostic company, Tom led a migration to AWS as part of a strategy to support the rapidly growing business. He saw cloud as a catalyst for transforming the company into a more agile organization, one that would enable increased automation and the adoption of modern application practices such as DevOps. Two years later, Foundation Medicine had grown from $100 million to $500 million in revenue, spurring its acquisition by Roche.
Michael oversees the executive management of RCH, including the company’s overall strategic direction, and brings more than 25 years of experience to his role. His primary responsibilities are business development, sales, and marketing. Michael has been an officer since 2006 and was instrumental in the evolution of the company’s business model. RCH has experienced significant market and revenue growth in the Life Sciences and Healthcare industries during this time.
